Water Block Cleaning — Restore Micro-Fin Flow
The micro-fins inside a CPU or GPU water block are only 0.4mm thick. Bio-film, sediment, or plasticizer can clog them in as little as 12 months on a neglected loop — raising temps 10°C+ even though everything looks fine. MSFREEZ disassembles, cleans, and reassembles blocks properly.
What you get
- Full disassembly of the water block
- Micro-fin brushing with soft nylon and citric solution
- New o-rings and gaskets
- New thermal paste (Kryonaut / MX-6) on CPU blocks
- New thermal pads on GPU blocks (memory + VRM)
Why blocks need cleaning
Micro-fins are the entire reason a water block cools better than air. When they clog, contact area drops and coolant flow bypasses the heat source. Even 20% blockage means 5–10°C higher temps at the same coolant temperature.
Blocks we service
EK-Quantum Velocity² and Magnitude (CPU). EK-Quantum Vector² and Bykski (GPU full-cover). Corsair XC7 / XG7. Alphacool Eisblock. Watercool Heatkiller. Custom or exotic blocks accepted after inspection.
FAQ
Can I skip block cleaning during a flush?
Basic flush leaves the fins as-is. If your temps have crept up over 12+ months, block cleaning is the highest-impact single service.
Does removing the GPU block void the AIB warranty?
Yes — AIB warranty is already void if the card was water-cooled. Our workmanship warranty covers the card while we service the block.
